Success!!!

Just like you, Allison, I LOVE Weight Watchers! My first week, my first weigh-in and I lost 4.6 pounds! I was shocked. I knew I had lost something because my jeans were loose yesterday, but I didn't think it was that much. I was so excited! Then there's always someone who wants to rain on your parade...the lady behind me in line says, "Oh, it must be your first week", real sarcastically! But I blew her off, and stayed excited all day! Thanks to everyone for their encouragement.

Well, Ali you inspired me! I took the plunge and went to WeightWatchers. My goal weight loss for now is 17 pounds. I will keep you all updated.

My Very Own Shopping Cart!

Off to spend money!
Healthy choices

Kenzie...still beautiful with a shiner!

Kenzie buying tofu & sushi.

They called it a "coffee party" not a tea party! Probably due to their dad's Starbucks influence!

Today we had to be out of the house for the whole afternoon since our Realtors were having an Open House (no offers yet), and we decided to go out for lunch then to the Natural Food Co-Op where the girls could shop with their very own shopping carts. They looked so adorable pushing them around and picking things out. Its funny, the things they put in their carts to buy! We did put everything back before we left...I didn't want to buy tofu and sushi! They also got a tea set from their friend Savannah at church and spent the rest of the afternoon and evening playing with it. See Kenzie's shiner? Poor girl, it's actually looking better.

Snow Pics

Don't eat the yellow snow!
Child labor!

Yeah, it worked this time! There's adorable Kenzie before her black eye! I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and while we were in line, there was an older couple who started talking to Sydney, telling her that she was pretty. Well, Kenzie leans forward and says, "Me pretty too!" It was so precious. Luckily, the couple said, "yes, you are pretty too" and luckily, Kenzie doesn't know that she has a shiner. Wouldn't it be great if we could all be as sure of our beauty as she is? It's amazing that wanting to be beautiful starts at such a young age. I pray that she always sees herself as beautiful...because she truly is, even with a shiner!

Snow Finally!

What a day, what a day, what a day! It started off with the girls waking us up at the butt-crack of dawn...6am! We put them back to bed three times before we finally just got up. Jon went over and helped our neighbor shovel her driveway (since her young hubby just passed away last summer) and then shoveled most of ours. After breakfast, the girls and I went outside and played in the snow. They loved it! Once inside, they got a nice warm bath and then some hot (lukewarm) chocolate. This is when the day got worse...Kenzie proceeds to fall off the recliner from a standing position and hits her head on the coffee table, biting her tongue in the process. It looked so bad that I called Jon to come home so we could take her to the ER. Luckily, Jen was not teaching today due to the snow, so she came over and stayed with Syd. Well, we were at the ER for 3 hours and they did NOTHING! They said the tongue could not be helped and would heal quickly on its own. She just has to eat soft, non-salty food for the next few days. They did not do an x-ray on the swelling and bruising of her cheek so they would not expose her to radiation and plus, what can you do with a cheek-bone break? Face cast? Anyway, rest (impossible for a 2-year-old), tylenol, and ice cream for two days! Then tonight at dinner the girls had two potty accidents and they had to go back in the bath for the second time today. Now, mind you, while all this was going on, I was not a happy camper since today is MY day. I was going to have lunch with a friend (alone) and then do an interpreting job and then have choir tonight. Well, because of our huge snow (3 inches...whatever, we're in the South) everything was cancelled. No lunch, no job, no choir, no ME time! So tonight when the girls went to bed, I went to SAM'S Club and savored every minute of it! I tried to download pictures three times and I couldn't get it to work...don't know what's going on. Sorry.

Okay, sorry everyone. I know I've been really lax in blogging, but we're trying to get our house on the market and there's so much to do. Just tonight I didn't sit down until I got the walls touched up with paint in the living room and kitchen. The basement has a huge pile of stuff going to Goodwill and luckily tomorrow, Kristi is taking the girls to the mall to play and have dinner so that I can do a major top-to-bottom cleaning. Our realtor said we didn't need to do anything to our house, that it always looked great, but now that it will be online for a virtual tour, I want it to look even better. Also, Friday and Saturday we were gone to SWU to see Steph play basketball for the last time (not her last time, but our last time)...kinda sad for Jon, but lots of fun for me and the girls! We stayed in an actual college apartment with each of us sleeping in a separate room in twin beds. What an experience! So enjoy this blog, because you may not see another new one for awhile. Our house goes on the market Thursday and Jon's mom flies in Saturday for a good long visit. Catch you all later!
